COPD: What dose it mean? Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. The three main obstructive breathing problems are, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, and asthma. Most people that have COPD are aware that
they have it but many are not. One of the symptoms is shortness of breath-on exertion (as when
walking fast or climbing stairs). This symptom is often blamed for being out of shape (which might be true) but if you get headaches and feel sick or have a mild fever after exercise you should see your Doctor.
The lungs excrete half a cup of mucus (sputum) a day.
Most of us breath with our accessory muscles.
